WHEN: Sunday July 1st 2012
TIME: Midday
WHERE: State Library – Swanston St Melbourne
Julian Assange’s appeal to reopen his case in the UKSC has now been rejected.  This means Julian Assange will be extradited to Sweden sometime between June 28-July 7.  Once in Sweden Julian will be held incommunicado, in solitary confinement and then if charged he will be trialled in secret. More likely he will be temporarily surrendered to the USA and fast track extradited to a military detention facility as the USA tries to build a case against him for Wikileaks release of videos and USA cables.

WACA is calling on the Australian Government to intervene and seek written humanitarian guarantees from the Swedish Government:
That Julian Assange will not be onwardly extradited to the USA.
That Julian Assange will be granted bail and allowed media and observers to be present at his trial if he is charged.
That once the Swedish process is completed they will immediately repatriate him to Australia rather than hand him over to the USA.

Send me all the details of your rally for a poster to promote action for Assange in your area.
